Rhyton Homa (drinking vessel) in the shape of an animal’s head. It is made from clay through controlled heat processes in the kiln at temperatures of 850 degrees and then the turquoise glaze is added on top at temperatures of 950 degrees – made in the city of Ghazvin, Iran. It’s a replica of the original rhyton that was made from silver. It originated in “Arzanjan” (today in east Turkey) in fourth and fifth century BC in the time of the Persian Achaemenid Empire.
